The drift mobility of light-mass holes in the highly non-parabolic principal valence band of PbTe has been estimated from measurements of the temperature dependence of the transverse Nernst-Ettingshausen coefficient and thermoelectric power. For a Na acceptor concentration of about 10 20 cm −3 it appeared that the drift mobility was about twice the Hall mobility at 100°K, which implies that the Hall anisotropy factor of the principal valence band is about 1/2 at this temperature.
