The concept of partial adaptive correction with a rotating slit aperture telescope (SAT) is tested numerically. Simulations of image reconstructions are given when a partial atmospheric correction is performed in one dimension only, along the long axis of the SAT. The reconstruction algorithm performs the inversion of the Radon transform. The SAT uses a small adaptive optical system with fewer actuators than conventional two-dimensional devices, but a relatively high degree of one-dimensional correction is needed to recover a satisfactory two-dimensional image. The effect of additive noise on the reconstructed image is also investigated.
