Early initiation of percutaneous cardiopulmonary support and surgical thrombectomy can be life-saving for acute massive pulmonary embolism with cardiopulmonary arrest in patients with high bleeding risk post-surgery.
Surgical thrombectomy after PCPS salvaged massive postoperative PE when thrombolysis was contraindicated; leaves open optimal management in high-bleeding-risk surgical patients.
