The rate of hydrolysis of sulphamic acid has been measured over the pH and temperature range of interest to electroplaters. The results have been correlated with accurate results at other temperatures reported in the literature, and are presented as a plot of half‐life of sulphamic acid as a function of pH, from 50 to 95 °C, and as a plot of half‐life against temperature, at pH 1.4, 2 and 3. Guidelines are given for estimating the half‐life at temperatures and pH's not covered by the experimental results.
