We propose a system of antenna array and metamaterial lens in the millimeter-wave frequency, in which the linear antenna array controls the radiation beam in the horizontal direction, while the metamaterial lens controls the radiation beam in the vertical direction. Numerical simulation and experiment results agree well with each other. It is shown that the antenna system with gain of 28.7 dB exhibits a desirable beamwidth of 9.9°in the yz-plane and beamwidth of 3.5°in the xz-plane at the central frequency 37.5 GHz.
