A young man presented with clinical and laboratory manifestations of pheochromocytoma. He also had hypercalcemia and high serum parathyroid hormone concentrations. Surgical removal of the pheochromocytoma resulted in return of catecholamine, serum calcium, and parathyroid hormone concentrations to normal. The increased catecholamines probably stimulated the parathyroid glands to produce excessive parathyroid hormone, resulting in hypercalcemia.
