The vacuum spark spectra of bromine have been investigated under different degrees of excitation in the region λ 1400 to λ 400, by means of a Siegbahn spectrograph. From a careful scrutiny of the plates the lines have been assigned to the different stages of ionization of the element. With the aid of these the principal members of the spectra of Br V, VI and VIII, involving the low-lying terms, have been identified.
