The Attain Stability left ventricular active fixation lead was extracted without difficulty, and subsequent coronary vein thrombosis was managed with venoplasty to maintain CRT response.
The Attain Stability left ventricular active fixation lead can be safely extracted, and associated coronary vein thrombosis can be managed with venoplasty to allow lead replacement.
May support extraction feasibility in select CRT cases; hypothesis-generating and requires prospective confirmation before broader adoption.
Left ventricular active fixation lead is fundamental for targeted pacing site. The challenge is the extraction but in our experience Attain(®) Stability™ was removed without any problem. As usual the lead can cause a thrombosis of the coronary vein but we performed a venoplasty in order to place again a lead in the target site and maintain the CRT response.
