Kinetic modeling demonstrates isobutene fragmentation pathways during dielectric barrier discharge oxidation, indicating mechanisms of electron-driven product formation in air.
Based on experimental data and theoretical calculations, possible directions of fragmentation of the isobutene molecule by the action of dielectric-barrier discharge electrons during its oxidation in air are proposed. A simplified scheme of a kinetic model for the formation of the main products is proposed, which includes effective rate constants of the electron–molecule interaction with molecules of the feed mixture.
