SiO 2 and Al 2 O 3 aerogels and mixed SiO 2 −Al 2 O 3 aerogels exhibit excellent adsorption capacities of water vapor in the range above 1.0 kg of water/kg of aerogel. Adsorption properties of mixed SiO 2 −Al 2 O 3 aerogels remain stable even after 25 repeated adsorption/desorption cycles.
