Comparative formulation study reveals greater stability in round versus oblong metronidazole tablets, indicating that tablet geometry influences poorly compressible drug performance.
HIGHLIGHTS Metronidazole is selected for this study because it is a poorly compressed drug. This study is based on the comparison of various physicochemical parameters of round and oblong shape tablets. Different statistical results showed that round shape is more stable form for poorly compressed drugs like metronidazole.
