Spatial analysis reveals suitable public housing locations as urban structural mini hubs in regional core cities, suggesting alignment with compact city renewal policies.
This study clarifies public housing characteristics on hub function and location from the viewpoint of compact city, targeting six regional core cities in Chubu region. Because many public houses are located in suburban area, it’s difficult to be consistent with compact city policy. By defining urban structural mini hub (USMH) from daily life convenience and settlement scale, this study shows that there could be appropriate location of USMH’s public houses in target city, especially in Residential Inducing Area. Analyzing of the relation with updating policy of public houses, USMH idea isn’t in contradiction with updating result and future schedule.
