Comparative analysis reveals balanced amino acid profiles and high medicinal amino acid levels in Fritillaria taipaiensis across 18 origins, supporting its use as a nutraceutical.
Bulbs of Fritillaria taipaiensis were collected from 18 different production areas to compare the amino acid composition and analyze the nutritional value of amino acids. The nutritional value of amino acids in F. taipaiensis from various origins was comprehensively evaluated using amino acid ratio (RAA), ratio coefficient of amino acid (RC), and score of RC (SRC, a dimensionless score). The results showed that 19 amino acids were detected in F. taipaiensis with the total amino acid (TAA) content ranging from 18.80 to 93.71 mg/g. The samples were rich in the medicinal amino acids arginine, glutamic acid, and aspartic acid. The SRC values of F. taipaiensis samples ranged from 82.33 to 102.60 (dimensionless score), indicating a well-balanced nutritional value of amino acids in F. taipaiensis. These findings demonstrate that F. taipaiensis possesses an exceptionally balanced amino acid profile, supporting its potential as a functional food or nutraceutical ingredient.
