The authors present the results of a spectroscopic investigation of the luminescence at 0.74 eV from GaAs:V. They are very well interpreted in the framework of a 3T2 to 3A2 transition at a V3+(3d2) ion. This type of model was introduced for the first time by Skolnick and co-workers (1983) in their study of InP:V.
