The sequential approach to distribution theory is used to rigorously derive the expression, which remains valid in the source region, for electric field in terms of the electric dyadic Green's function. Sufficient conditions for the behavior of the current density that insure that the electric field obeys Maxwell's equations are determined explicitly.
