Unidirectional atrioatrial conduction can occur after orthotopic heart transplantation, potentially leading to arrhythmogenic consequences such as atrial bigeminy and trigeminy.
Anselme et al. (1994) conducted a case report in Orthotopic heart transplantation (n=2). Electrophysiologic investigation was evaluated on Atrioatrial conduction. Electrophysiologic investigation demonstrated unidirectional conduction between native and graft atria in two heart transplant patients, resulting in frequent atrial bigeminy and trigeminy.
