The distribution of lipase among milk proteins was investigated by chronlatography on DEAE cellulose and filtration through Sephadex G-200.Protein components were identified by electrophoresis in starch gel containing 7 ~ urea. The effect of the dissociating agent dimethylfornlamide on distribution of lipase was studied. Results showed that the lipase in milk is normally associated with K-casein but can be dissociated from it.It is coneluded that lipase is a discrete minor conlponent of the casein system.
