Secondary survey analysis reveals four major barriers to academic grant activity in higher education faculty, highlighting targeted mentorship and training as key institutional solutions.
Using secondary data analysis of national and international survey results, this article examines the main problems in developing grant activity in higher education institutions and proposes pedagogical solutions. The study analyzes the results of a faculty motivation survey conducted in Uzbekistan (Qayumova, 2024), as well as openly published findings from international surveys on barriers to research and grant activity in Latin America, Tanzania, and other developing countries. The analysis classifies the identified problems into four main categories — financial-institutional, methodological-competency, motivational-psychological, and organizational-informational. For each category, a corresponding pedagogical solution (specialized grant-writing courses, mentorship systems, internal micro-grant programs) is substantiated on the basis of the reviewed scholarly literature.
