Hot bands were resolved in the vibrational Raman spectrum of chlorine at atmospheric pressure. The anharmonicity constant is in good agreement with the value obtained from absorption spectra. In carbon tetrachloride vapor the hot bands contributing the the ν 1 band contour were investigated from 25° to 130°C.
