A new method to produce fancy yarns on a rotor-spinning machine is described. The evenly distributed fibre flow in the fibre-transport channel is partly blocked by means of pressurized air. This causes a periodic accumulation of fibres, which provide the effect of a fancy yarn. The experiments reported in this paper were performed at rotor speeds of up to 44 000 r/min.
