of ulcerative enteritis when yolk sac cultures were fed to quail. The organism was reisolated from quail which died following oral administration of yolk cultures. The bacterium was also pathogenic for quail by the intramuscular and intraperitoneal routes. Yolk cultures heated at different temperatures up to 80 C for varying periods up to one hour remained pathogenic for embryos. Yolk cultures remained pathogenic for quail after storage at 20 C for 12 months.
