An Application of a Hierarchical Bus Network Design Method to Kumamoto Urban Area

The aim of this paper is to show the bus network reorganization planning in Kumamoto urban area based on the hierarchical network design method. This bus network is evaluated from the viewpoints of users and bus company and city government. Results of the cost benefit analysis shows that this planning runs a large deficit. However, it is economically effective.
