30 adult patients with tetralogy of Fallot undergoing total correction between 1966 and 1986. 26 patients had one or more palliative procedures prior to definitive repair. Preoperative presenting features included dyspnoea on exertion, clubbing, cyanosis, and polycythaemia.

Total correction of tetralogy of Fallot (patch closure of ventricular septal defect in all, with additional muscle bundle resection from right ventricular outflow tract in 15, pulmonary valvotomy in 6, and enlargement of right ventricular outflow tract in 2 patients).
