The magnetic field influence on the Gunn effect is investigated in order to get information about the transport phenomena in GaAs for strong electric fields (higher than the threshold). The effective mobility of carriers in the upper valleys, the mean negative differential mobility, and the electric field corresponding to the minimum value of the mean drift velocity of carriers v(E) are estimated from experiments. A method is proposed to obtain information about the curve v(E) from the experimental dependence of the threshold field of the Gunn generation on magnetic field.
