The photoelectric spectrum of molecular oxygen has been recorded between 1750 and 2020 Å at 300, 600, and 900 K with an instrumental bandwidth of 0.075 Å. Over 1000 new lines have been observed, most of which have been identified as arising from v″ = 1 and 2 levels of the X3∑g− ground state. A modified curve-of -growth technique has been used to determine the oscillator strengths of the v″ = 0, 1, and 2; v′ = 5 to 13 bands. Estimates of the line widths have been obtained; predissociation is evident for the B3∑u− state from v′–3 to 17.
