Key Points

To evaluate the impact of foreign female players on offensive performance and investigate data-driven predictive strategies in professional volleyball.
Analyzed match statistics spanning the 2015–2016 through 2024–2025 seasons of Korean women's volleyball.
Applied the NeuralProphet time-series forecasting model to predict offensive indicators at both the team and foreign-player levels.
Top-ranking teams exhibited attack efficiencies of 27.084% to 32.959% and 2.413 to 3.081 blocks per set, exceeding bottom-ranking teams' 22.357% to 26.025% attack efficiency and 1.705 to 2.642 blocks per set.
Foreign players in top-ranking teams demonstrated higher predicted attack efficiency (26.181% to 38.163% vs. 22.281% to 28.699%) and higher blocking rates (0.279 to 0.789 vs. 0.148 to 0.438 blocks per set) than those in bottom-ranking teams.
Foreign players on bottom-ranking teams carried a higher attack share (23.216% to 33.694%) compared to foreign players on top-ranking teams (20.396% to 28.762%).
