The gasketless stack for proton exchange membrane(PEM) fuel cells was developed by using O-ring. Incorporation of O-ring makes it possible not only to obtain the perfect scaling and non-mixing of reactants gases but to fabricate the stacks less expensive and more convenient. The stack performance of 250 mA/cm 2 at 0.7 Volt was attained at 3 bar with the E-TEK electrode and Nafion 115 membrane by using the pure hydrogen and oxygen. It exhibited reasonably uniform cell-to-cell performance and stability.
