A brief discussion of the natural occurrence and biological action of 2-styrylchromones is considered in this review; for these compounds and their 3-isoanalogues a thorough description of the successful synthetic strategies is presented. Structural characterization (nmr and mass spectra) and reactivity in Diels-Alder and photooxidation reactions are other important features of 2-styryl-chromones to be considered
