Experimental study demonstrates the I2m space group in stoichiometric CdIn2Te4 crystals, ruling out previously proposed structural models.
Crystal growth by a modified Bridgman method has been developed and applied to the preparation of stoichiometric CdIn2Te4 single crystals. The I2m space group was found by analysing electron diffraction patterns and high-resolution electron microscopy (HREM) images, ruling out the previously suggested I group. Cadmium and indium atoms are randomly distributed on the sites.
