Supports consideration of hepatic angiosarcoma in DIC with hypervascular liver tumors; leaves open optimal management strategies.
Case Report (n=1)
Hepatic angiosarcoma should be considered in patients presenting with DIC and hypervascular liver tumors, as it carries a very poor prognosis with rapid mortality.
Fujii et al. (2018) conducted a case report in Hepatic angiosarcoma with Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon (n=1). Erythrocyte/fresh frozen plasma infusion and gabexate mesilate was evaluated on Mortality. A 76-year-old woman with hepatic angiosarcoma and Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon died 4 months after admission due to spontaneous hepatic tumor rupture and hepatic failure despite supportive care.
