Q-switching of Nd:YAG, Nd:YAlO 3 , Nd:KGW laser oscillators with a Cr 4+ :YAG as saturable absorber is reported. Transverse mode polarized light pulses with energies of 50 mJ and repetition rates 10 Hz are obtained.
