Particles of the green luminescent Zn2SiO4:Mn having size of 0.3–1.3 µm was directly prepared by spray pyrolysis without post-annealing processes. Characteristics of as-prepared particles such as crystallinity, morphology, and photoluminescence were investigated. Zn2SiO4:Mn particles with spherical morphology, non-aggregation, and having pure willemite was formed at a temperature of 1000–1300°C. The luminescence of the Mn2+ ion in Zn2SiO4 shows an emission band in the 525 nm when excited by 254 nm light.
