Multimodal imaging guides successful diagnosis and surgical removal of a rare RV lipoma.
Case Report (n=1)
Multimodal imaging plays a critical role in the accurate diagnosis and surgical planning of rare cardiac tumors such as right ventricular lipomas.
Supports multimodal imaging for rare right ventricular masses; leaves open need for larger series before broader adoption.
A 36-year-old female with bilateral thyroid cancer was incidentally found to have a 5.6×4.3 cm right ventricular (RV) mass, confirmed by TTE and cardiac CT as a fat-density lesion. Multimodal imaging, including Myocardial contrast echocardiography (MCE), CT, and CMR, helped diagnose the mass as a cardiac lipoma and guided surgical planning, which successfully removed the tumor and restored RV dimensions. This case highlights the critical role of multimodal imaging in diagnosing and managing rare cardiac tumors.

Wang et al. (2025) conducted a case report in Right ventricular lipoma (n=1). Multimodal imaging and surgical removal was evaluated on Diagnosis and surgical removal of the tumor. Multimodal imaging successfully diagnosed a rare 5.6×4.3 cm right ventricular lipoma in a 36-year-old female, guiding surgical removal that restored right ventricular dimensions.
