In spite of the extremely large variety of weaves that exist, the number of methods for designing them is limited. In this paper, an attempt is made to investigate a system of parametric weave–coding based on the methods of the design of the weaves. The principles of weave–coding and a full system of codes are discussed and presented here. The development of a software package called DESINT (DESign INTerpreter) for computer–aided textile design is reported.
