This paper deals with characteristics of long-wave component in near-bottom velocities under random waves. Comparisons were made between measured and simulated time histories of long-wave velocity, where three models were applied, i.e., the partially standing long wave model, the radiation stress model and the numerical integration model based on depth-integrated equations for mass and momentum conservation. The joint probability density of near-bottom velocities due to short and long waves was evaluated. It was found that the magnitude of offshore velocity due to long waves tended to be larger than that of the onshore velocity.
