May support screening for tachycardia-mediated LV dysfunction in pediatric cardiomyopathy; leaves open need for prospective trials before practice change.
Case Report (n=1)
Transcatheter ablation can be a safe and effective curative treatment for tachycardiomyopathy secondary to incessant fascicular ventricular tachycardia in infants, leading to complete recovery of systolic function.
Filippo et al. (2011) conducted a case report in Severe ventricular systolic dysfunction and incessant ventricular tachycardia (n=1). Transcatheter ablation was evaluated on Clinical and functional recovery. Transcatheter ablation successfully eliminated incessant idiopathic left-ventricular fascicular tachycardia in a 12-month-old infant, allowing complete clinical and functional recovery (LVEF 70%).
