Key result
CMR and MDCT reveal specific myocardial and lung features of active systemic leptospiral infection.
Why the study?
Global incidence of leptospirosis has increased in temperate and developed regions, necessitating characterization of cardiac involvement using imaging modalities.
Case Report (n=1)
CMR and MDCT are useful modalities for identifying myocardial and pulmonary involvement in patients with active systemic leptospirosis.
. Although it is endemic in tropical countries, global incidence has increased in several temperate and developed regions. Here, we present a cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and multidetector computer tomography (MDCT) chest features of active systemic leptospiral infection in a 19-year-old male. The MDCT appearances of lungs and CMR appearances of myocardium in icteric leptospirosis are described. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment is important to manage the cardiothoracic complications.

Auti et al. (2017) conducted a case report in Active systemic leptospiral infection (n=1). Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and multidetector computer tomography (MDCT) was evaluated on Imaging features of myocardium and lungs. Cardiac magnetic resonance and multidetector computer tomography demonstrated specific myocardial and lung features of active systemic leptospiral infection in a 19-year-old male.
