Abstract 1,2,5‐Thiadiazolo[3,4‐b]‐ and 1,2,5‐thiadiazolo[3,4‐c]‐pyridines have been synthesized from the appropriate diaminopyridines and thionyl chloride. Ring closure of the diamines with selenious acid gave the corresponding selenadiazolopyridines.
