With a view to prepare titanium tetra‐acetate, the reaction between titanium tetrachloride and a mixture of acetic acid and acetic anhydride has been investigated in detail. It has been shown that the reaction in cold yielded pure crystalline dichloride di‐acetate of titanium. On refluxing the reaction mixture, decomposition reactions occurred, yielding basic titanium derivatives of the type magnified image .
