Sotalol's class III effect on repolarization may attenuate during exercise; leaves open clinical relevance in active patients and warrants targeted trials.

Jian Li (2005) conducted an RCT in healthy volunteers (n=31). Sotalol vs. Propranolol and placebo was evaluated on QTc interval at rest (p=<0.01). Sotalol significantly prolonged QTc intervals at rest compared to placebo (324.86 ms vs 314.06 ms, P<0.01), but its delay of ventricular repolarization was attenuated during exercise.
