One report has described the case of a man who presented with hemoptysis as the initial manifestation and died of uncontrollable hemoptysis after 5 months; electron microscopic study of his lung biopsy showed electron-dense intramembranous deposits within alveolar capillary basement membranes (1). Another case study concerned a woman whose 20-month course of lupus erythematosus began with dyspnea; massive pulmonary hemosiderosis was the main autopsy finding (2). Lupus erythematosus has also been reported in association with diffuse pulmonary hemorrhage fatal in 9 days (3).The patient we describe...References1.
