Borovkova et al. (2014) studied Healthy (n=12). Real-time phase synchronization diagnostic method using single PPG signal vs. Standard method using simultaneous ECG and PPG was evaluated on Average error of assessing phase synchronization of 0.1 Hz oscillations. A novel method for detecting phase synchronization of 0.1 Hz oscillations from a single PPG signal in real time demonstrated an average error of 6.9±3.6% compared to the standard dual-signal method.
