Key result
Glycopyrronium for neuromuscular blockade reversal linked to VF and cardiac arrest in undiagnosed LQTS.
Why the study?
Long QT syndrome is associated with ventricular fibrillation and sudden death, but triggers related to anesthesia reversal drugs are not well described.
Comparison
Administration of drugs for reversal of neuromuscular blockade including glycopyrronium vs no administration

May warrant caution with glycopyrronium in possible long QT syndrome; leaves open broader safety implications for reversal agents.
Case Report (n=1)
Administration of glycopyrronium for reversal of neuromuscular blockade may provoke ventricular fibrillation in patients with long QT syndrome.
Pleym et al. (1999) conducted a case report in Long QT syndrome (n=1). Glycopyrronium (reversal of neuromuscular blockade) was evaluated on Cardiac arrest / ventricular fibrillation. Administration of glycopyrronium for reversal of neuromuscular blockade provoked an episode of cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation in a patient with undiagnosed long QT syndrome.
