A centrifugal Sephadex procedure has been adapted for separation of concentrated skimmilk, whey, and similar biological systems on the basis of molecular size.Coneentrated skimmilk and whey were separated into two fractions: a) proteins and colloidal salts and b) lactose, salts, and other dissolved components. This procedure permits rapid fractionation of relatively large volumes of viscous solutions (v ~ 1~ bed volume) with a nfinimum dilution of the protein fraction.
