Quercetin plus sitagliptin increases testosterone and FSH while restoring GPx in rats with doxorubicin toxicity.
Why the study?
The effect of quercetin and/or sitagliptin on doxorubicin-induced testicular toxicity was evaluated to explore potential therapeutic options.

Does quercetin and/or sitagliptin prevent doxorubicin-induced testicular toxicity in male Wistar rats?
The combination of quercetin and sitagliptin attenuates doxorubicin-induced testicular toxicity in rats, likely via antioxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms.
Ahmed et al. (2019) conducted an RCT in doxorubicin-induced testicular toxicity (n=25). quercetin and sitagliptin vs. doxorubicin alone and negative control was evaluated on testosterone, LH, FSH, ALP, LDH, GPx, and TAOC levels. The combination of quercetin and sitagliptin significantly increased testosterone and FSH levels and restored GPx levels in rats with doxorubicin-induced testicular toxicity.
