Studying the Effect of Throttling by the RANS/ILES Method on Pressure Pulsations in a Multiple-Modules Supersonic Air Intake

Using the RANS/ILES method, we analyze the effect of throttling of one of the modules in a three-module high-speed model air intake on the flow, level, and spectra of pressure pulsations in each of the modules. A brief description of the calculation method and the boundary conditions used is given. The OASPL levels in air intake modules are obtained depending on the type of flow deceleration. The effect of the throttling of one of the modules on the flow and features of 1/3-octave spectra in adjacent modules is revealed.
