Simulation of damage–permeability coupling in hygro‐thermo‐mechanical analysis of concrete at high temperature

This paper presents the numerical procedure used and the results obtained for full coupling between damage and intrinsic permeability in a recently developed model for heat and mass transfer and damage analysis of concrete at high temperature. A formula describing effects of damage on intrinsic permeability is numerically tested. A numerical example concerning high temperature behaviour of high performance concrete structure is presented, showing a considerable effect of damage–intrinsic permeability coupling on concrete hygrothermal performance.
