Abstract 5-Substituted 6-methyl-2-[(E)-2-aryl)ethenyl]pyrimidin-4(3H)-ones and 2,4-dioxo-6-[(E)-2-arylethenyl]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carbaldehydes were obtained by condensation of 5-substituted 2,6-dimethylpyrimidin-4(3H)-ones and 6-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde with aromatic aldehydes, respectively. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of the obtained compounds were studied and a docking study was carried out against four targets.
