ABSTRACT Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) comprises smooth muscle differentiating cells and is the second most common type of retroperitoneal sarcoma after liposarcoma. The prognosis of LMS is generally poor and extended nephrectomy is the gold standard surgical modality for localized tumor. We report one case of renal LMS that was treated at the urology department of the Hospital Principal in Dakar. The 55-year-old female patient had extended monobloc removal of the tumor. histological and immunohistochemical analysis showed a grade II renal leiomyosarcoma (FNCLCC). Extension workup was negative; Four years later, the patient was alive with no sign of local recurrence or distance metastasis.
