Research Infrastructures are increasingly central to scientific discovery, innovation and evidence-informed policy, but their management requires the integration of many dimensions that are often treated separately. This paper proposes an eleven-tenet framework for the integrated, evolving and sustainable management of European Research Infrastructure Consortia, extending existing tenet-based approaches by adding the explicit dimension of enabling scientific excellence. The framework brings together scientific, technological, economic, administrative, political, legal, societal, environmental, ethical, cultural and communication considerations into a coherent structure. It is intended to support strategic reflection, gap analysis, adaptive management and future assessment of ERICs, while recognising that the challenges addressed are relevant beyond the European RI and ERIC context.
